The Movements of the Journey

The journey through the Twelve Steps unfolds through three distinct movements. Each movement builds upon what came before it, gradually changing the way we understand ourselves, our relationship with God, and the way we live with others.
Movement One — Discovery encompasses Steps One through Three. We begin by facing the truth of where we are, opening ourselves to the possibility of change, and choosing a new direction.
Movement Two — Transformation encompasses Steps Four through Nine. This movement turns inward as we examine what we discover, become willing for change, and begin restoring what has been damaged. Within this movement are three distinct stages: Examine, Become Ready, and Restore.
Movement Three — Living the Principles encompasses Steps Ten through Twelve. The principles we have discovered and developed begin to find expression in the way we live each day. What began as an inward journey gradually becomes an outward way of life.

The Journey Continues

The principles we discover through the Steps are not meant to remain ideas we admire or lessons we remember. They become part of the way we live.

What began with discovery has moved through transformation and now finds expression in everyday life. Yet the journey is not complete. There is always more to learn, more to practice, and more opportunity to grow.

The journey continues.
